My name is Hans Schellevis, Founder and CEO of AHIA. I established the academy with a clear purpose: to make high-quality health, safety and environmental education accessible to professionals around the world.

Throughout my career in HSE, I have seen that safety is not achieved through procedures alone. Real safety begins with competent people, responsible leadership, honest communication and a workplace culture in which everyone feels responsible for preventing harm.

My Mission

My mission is to help professionals develop the practical knowledge, recognised qualifications and leadership skills needed to advance their careers and create safer organisations.

AHIA supports learners at different stages of their professional journey—from those beginning a career in occupational health and safety to experienced managers preparing for strategic leadership roles.

Our programmes include internationally focused HSE qualifications, ISO and lead-auditor training, occupational safety courses, leadership education, and advanced MBA and DBA pathways.

My Approach to Safety

I believe that effective safety education must connect academic knowledge with real workplace challenges.
